San Jacinto College seeking faculty

I’m reaching out to you today in response to our on-going need for Nurse Educators at San Jacinto College District in Pasadena-Houston, Texas.

We are seeking full-time and adjunct faculty members to teach in our Associate Degree Nursing program at San Jacinto College.

The San Jacinto College Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program provides a multi-entry and multi-exit professional nursing education committed to excellence for all qualified applicants and prepares nurses to be providers of care to individuals and families, coordinators of care within a variety of health care systems, and contributing members of the nursing profession. The Associate Degree Nursing Program offers upward educational mobility for Licensed Vocational Nurses and Paramedics. The curriculum prepares students to become competent registered nurses to give patient-centered care in hospitals and other health care agencies.

As you may already know, many of these positions have very specific requirements, so I thought maybe you might have some suggestions for sourcing nursing education faculty or perhaps you know someone who is looking to expand into the teaching side of nursing on a part-time (or maybe even full-time) basis. Here are a few of the positions:

9-month FULL-TIME Faculty position:
·         Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Professor
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse
Med-Surgical Nurse
Pediatric Nurse

12-month FULL-TIME Faculty position:
·         Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Professor
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse
Med-Surgical Nurse
Pediatric Nurse

REQUIRED: Master of Science in Nursing Science (MS/MSN) or Nursing Education. Three (3) years of nursing experience in specialty (Psychiatric-Mental Health, Medi-Surgical or Pediatrics).  Texas Registered Nursing (RN) License (OR must have a current other StateRegistered Nursing (RN) License required).    If other State Registered Nursing (RN) License, must be able to obtain a Texas Registered Nursing (RN) License.  PREFERRED: Nursing Education or Doctorate in Nursing Science. Five (5) years of nursing experience inPsychiatric-Mental Health, Medi-Surgical or Pediatrics. Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) License. Nursing Specialty Certifications.

Licensed Vocational Nursing Instructors:
·         Request for RN, either ADN or BSN w/ 3 years of experience in Med-Surgical Nursing OR Maternal Neonatal Nursing.  Flexible hours, weekdays & weekends and evenings.

In addition to the above positions, we are also seeking:

Adjunct Instructors – part-time as needed, may include evenings and weekends:
·         Associate Degree Nursing for Clinical in:
OB-Gyn Nurse adjuncts (Master’s Degree Required)
Pediatric Nurse adjuncts (Master’s Degree Required)
Mental Health Nurse adjuncts (Master’s Degree Required)
Med-Surgical Nurse adjuncts (Master’s Degree Required)
