Congrats to Cheryl for successfully defending her dissertation proposal!
While connecting with alumns, Drs. Shellye Vardaman and Irene Gilliland, at Sigma Theta Tau International this past week, we agreed we need a means to keep abreast of PhrnDz even after they no longer have access to Bb. Gina came to the rescue once again and, voila'! We now have a blog that is accessible to all -- even after graduation. Thanks, Gina!!
Tara Eaton and Jenifer Chilton had their proposal entitled "Effect of the Total Girl Wellness Program on Wellness Behaviors in Adolescent Females" funded for the $3,000.00 requested.
Scott Marzilli stated, "I think it is great to see how the combination of nursing and kinesiology programs could be used to increase the breadth and depth of knowledge for the nursing students. Moreover, it is very difficult to get access to high schools, so congratulations on that too! I look forward to hearing about your results next year! I sincerely hope that these funds allow you both to move forward with your research agendas. Thank you once again for your CRIA application and I wish you the best of luck conducting this research."
Joyce Ballard and Barbara Haas had their proposal entitled "Effect of an 8-week Exercise Training Intervention on Functional Fitness Tests in Elderly Female Cancer Survivors." funded!
Scott Marzilli stated, "Your proposal exemplifies what my vision was when I created the CRIA grant program. I just can't tell you how excited I am for your research to begin next semester. I have decided to increase your funding by $1,765.00 for a total of $4,765.00. I have increased your Graduate Assistant pay from $1,800.00 to $2,800.00 and I also included airfare and hotel for both of you and not just Barb. Thank you once again for your CRIA application and I wish you the best of luck conducting this research."
